New breed of viruses cause misrepresentation and copyright infringement

By: Andre Leite Alves

A recent study conducted by the company Aware Bear Computers shows the correlation between people infected by computer viruses and the economic crisis. “We noticed that once you begin to see a drop in the market, more and more companies are doing everything possible to diminish their overhead, unfortunately workers in these companies are being laid off as a direct result of the economy…The tension is rising and it seems t hat more and more people are finding any alternative possible to pay their daily bills, even internet scheme that leads to copyright infringement and professional misrepresentation if they know how to.” Says Aware Bear owner Andre Leite Alves. AwareBear computer service and repair in Rochester NY Arthur Leite than added that “we noticed a great rise in viruses that are out to get people.” Some of these viruses seem to be very lethal and they always find a way to “trick” people into downloading them by mistake.
The ones that we are seeing the most are the ones that are using copyright infringement and professional misrepresentation against the major software companies. These copyright infringements include similar names, icons and other forms of misrepresentation that tricks people into downloading these malicious viruses.” Aware Bear Computers is doing everything possible to educate their clients about this misrepresentation against the major software developers and other major companies. “The logos on major software companies are all trademark and they reserve the rights to that logo, however people are cloning these copyrighted material into viruses and sending them out via e-mail, via websites, acting on a very professional misrepresentation way.
This is obviously unprofessional, a lie, misrepresentation, copyright infringement as well as fraud, these viruses are being created very professionally and some are extremely difficult to deal with. “The problem is that some have a window that say ‘your computer may be at risk, please download Anti-Virus to remove’…if you do so, that’s where you are in big trouble.” –Mentions Aware Bear computer repair manager Vincent P.
If you have already caught the virus, Aware Bear Computers recommends you to seek professional help immediately, also to contact your bank to make sure no one has gotten into your bank account. There are ways to prevent acquiring these nasty malwares and here are some ways:
1. Do not open any weird e-mails and stay away from FWRD e-mails (sometimes could be from a friend who got high jacked by a virus.
2. Make sure your computer has the proper protection (anti-malware software and a good firewall)
3. Stay away from sites that are from foreign nations (A great deal of Americans who are affected are from people all the way in the Netherlands, Italy, or Nigeria don’t think that’s only the 3rd world countries that are sending viruses, bad apples are everywhere.)
4. Use common sense, if it’s a site you have never been to be careful, don’t lose track of where you are, and do not click on advertisements because they might lead you to a page that may contain a virus.
5. Use proper maintenance tools and do all the scans on your computer to make sure it is always clean and running smoothly at least once a week.
6. Don’t forget the internet is dangerous and anyone can do anything from anywhere, the less you use it, the better off you are.
7. Some free game websites may be infected with viruses, because remember “there is no such a thing as a free lunch” –unknown

So remember, if “your computer may be at risk” do not click on anything, seek professional help immediately.
