Feng Shui Your Front Door For many people, the front door to their home seems like something they can’t really change with Feng Shui. After all, that door has been put into place for only one reason – to let people in. But when you stop to think about it, you might begin to see what this is such an important space in your home. By taking the time to use Feng Shui principles with the door, you can begin to not only alter the energy of your home, but also the energy of everyone who comes in through your door. When these family members and guest enter your home they bring the energy from the day with them so the goal is to shift their energy before they enter. Keep the Door Open and Free from Obstacles One of the basic ways you can create a front door (or side door if that’s the one you most often use) that’s inviting for new and positive energy is to make sure it can easily open. Doors that open out into the outside are the best situation, but if not, you may want to spend look for ways to at least keep the front door area clear of distractions and obstacles. This way, you can allow energy to move freely whenever the door does open. If there are days when you can leave the door open, do so. All the more times you open the window, you will be able to keep the energy high and the flow of energy strong. If the door sticks or squeaks, make sure to get these problems fixed as they can also lead to energetic troubles. If your door does not open all the way you are limiting the energy that you allow to enter. If the door is squeaking or sticking you make it difficult for the energy to enter. The goal is free flowing happy energy. Bright Colors, Bright Energy In Feng Shui, the color red is associated with good luck and prosperity. If possible, try to have your front door be this color when it faces the world. You can choose to use a more muted red if the brighter reds seem too energetic, but this color is certainly going to attract a positive energy into your home each time it is moved or the door is opened to let someone in. This will also boost the energy of the person who walks through the door. The color red has the highest electromagnetic field and will draw more energy to your home than any other color. Keep the Entrance Way Clear of Obstacles The path to your entrance is the way the energy moves towards your home. It is important that you keep this path clear and unobstructed. Often as our home ages so do the plants and they seems to take over the entrance path. If this describes your home it is time to hire a gardener or get out the hedge clippers and cut the back so the path is as clear as the day it started. Feng Shui can help in many ways, but you need to remember that all parts of the home are a part of the energetic flow. Your front door is your first chance to make sure the energy of your home is as positive as possible.
